Exactly 200 years ago to the day the first bridge to Hayling Island was opened.
The opening of the first road bridge to Hayling Island on 8th September 1824 changed the island forever. Today in celebration of that key event in the local history of both the Borough and the region we are conducting a procession over the replacement 1956 bridge to which everyone is welcome.
Optional, but lovely if possible - Georgian Fancy Dress.
