Join one of our volunteer guides for a walk around the country park and find hidden traces of the Royal Victoria Hospital. Follow in the footsteps of Netley's staff and patients, learn their stories and discover the fascinating history of this unique site. This walk is approximately 2.5km and will take 1.5-2 hours. Some of the paths, particularly through the woodland areas, may be muddy.

Meet at The Chapel Reception.

You’ll find us in Netley Abbey, Hampshire - a couple of miles east of Southampton, alongside the shores of Southampton Water. If you’re using a sat nav to make your way here, use this postcode: SO31 5RA. The closest parking to the Chapel is in the Chapel Car Park, which includes accessible parking spaces. Alternative car parks include Tall Pines, Round and Sea Front Car Parks. The Tall Pines Car Park is closest to the Cedar Rooms Restaurant and Café and the Park Shop.

Max 20 people per tour/session. 1 hour 30 minutes,

Although the main paths on the site are accessible with a wheelchair, pushchair or pram, the walk will also include using footpaths through woodland areas at the edge of the site. These can be uneven and may also be muddy. Please discuss ground conditions with the guide on the day and any places where you could leave and rejoin the group.
