Free entry to Gilbert White's House & Gardens

  • High Street Selborne Alton, GU34 3JH United Kingdom (map)

Explore Gilbert White's House & Gardens for free!

Gilbert White (1720-1793) was a naturalist and writer, the father of ecology, whose book 'The Natural History of Selborne' has never been out of print since 1789. Explore White's home and garden, get lost in nature, learn about Frank Oates (19th Century naturalist) & Lawrence Oates (who went with Scott to the South Pole) in the bonus Oates Collections Galleries, see our on-site brewery and relax in our cafe.

We will be hosting some walks to fit in with the theme of routes, networks and connections but with a nature twist! See our website www.gilbertwhiteshouse.org.uk for more details.
