A walk of historical interest from central Winchester to St Cross and back. About 2 miles.
Starting from the west front of Winchester Cathedral, and passing through the Kingsgate in the city wall, we stroll through water meadows and past the back of Winchester College towards the ancient Hospital of St Cross. We will return along historic Kingsgate Street. The walk is led by a Winchester City Tourist Guide who will point out features of historic interest along the way.

Walk includes gravel and grass surfaces and may be muddy or uneven in parts. There are kissing gates. The walk can be shortened by catching a No 1 bus back from St Cross to Winchester city centre.
The walk does not include a visit inside the Hospital of St Cross.
