The daughter of Frederick Ponsonby, Assistant Private Secretary to Queen Victoria, and Victoria Kennard, a well-known cookbook author, Loelia Ponsonby became one of the bright young things of the 1920s. After a disastrous marriage to the Duke of Westminster, Loelia would occupy herself with needlework and her stunning collection is now on display at Stansted House. Loelia was also a prolific diarist and these private entries offer a glimpse into her fascinating life, including her opinions on the wedding of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco.
