Hidden Winchester

Going behind the scenes

One of the delights of Heritage Open Days is that we all have the opportunity to take a peep inside buildings or through doors we are usually not allowed. And that is particularly true in theatres, even one as small and delightful as Chesil Theatre. Here are just a few of the photographers that Mike Hall took last year when he went behind the scenes.

Chesil Theatre is the home of Winchester’s Dramatic Society. Formed over 150 years ago it is an award winning and innovative amateur dramatics company. As well performing six main productions every year, they run workshops, writing events, youth groups and even hire out costume. Do visit their website to find out more, and even better to purchase tickets to see one of their upcoming productions.
